Good morning! How’s your weekend going? Hope your weather is as fabulous as ours is! After a week of rainy days, we are having an amazing weekend. And my yard finally got mowed yesterday. It looks incredible!
Let’s start with the Hotter ‘n Hell 5K update! Yesterday was actually a BEAUTIFUL day in Knoxville. Temps were BELOW average and nowhere near close to the highest temps we have had this summer. This year the race changed location and was held at Victor Ashe Park. I have to admit I had never been there before and it was gorgeous. What a fun park. I want to go back sometime when we have time to explore. Great for walking, running, biking. They have a dog park. Frisbee golf. A little of everything. Here is one of the few pictures I took:

Sadly, I wish my legs had felt as great as the rest of my body felt. Five minutes into the race I knew it was going to be a tough one. I had great workouts early in the week and a rest day on Friday, but my legs did not want to cooperate at the race. Truly I was just thankful to finish. This happens to my calves every now and then. I lost feeling in my left foot/calf. So frustrating. Especially when I know I have the cardio capacity to go faster. I will just keep trying. The important part is I tried and I finished. Sometimes that is enough.

Monday – full body workout (minus the circuit intervals) + plank
Tuesday – walking
Wednesday – full body workout + circuit intervals + plank
Thursday – walking
Friday – rest day
Saturday – 5K + tons of housework (wound up walking 6.5 miles and 25 flights of stairs yesterday)
Sunday (today) – rest day (maybe a little biking but we will see)
I felt I had a great week of workouts, just wish my legs had felt better during the 5K. I am looking forward to another great week of bootcamp. No 5Ks for me this week. I am going to concentrate on strength training and intervals.
