Good morning and TGIF!!! Is everyone ready for a great weekend? We are supposed to have much cooler temps here this weekend. I am very excited. Ironically, it is only supposed to be 65 degrees at the start of the Hotter ‘n Hell 5K tomorrow morning. That is quite alright with me!
I saw this on Tina’s blog yesterday and just had to join in.
1. Run/workout in the heat and humidity or freezing temps and snow?
Definitely freezing temps and snow. I can put on as many clothes as needed to get warm. There are only so many clothes I can take off and still go out in public. You would think after living in Knoxville all of my life that I would be used to the heat and humidity. You would be wrong. I don’t mind sweating during a workout. I do mind sweating when I step out of the car.
2. Have washboard abs or flat abs?
Let’s go with flat abs – probably the more attainable. I know I have abs. They are just currently hidden under layers of fat.
3. Dr. Oz or The Doctors?
Neither. I don’t watch either of these shows. Which show do you prefer?
4. Cardio or strength?
Definitely strength. I love feeling stronger and lifting heavier weights. A great reason to bring out strength chick:
5. Cravings: Protein or carbs?
Protein. To me there is nothing better than a good filet. Check out this yummy filet with blue cheese crust from Ruth’s Chris.
6. Jillian Michaels or Bob Harper?
Bob Harper. I think he would be more fun to train with.
7. Frozen Yogurt or Ice Cream?
Frozen Yogurt! I love places like Menchie’s, Froyoz, etc. Anywhere I can create my own and add exactly what I want is a fun place!
8. To train: Upper body or Lower body?
Upper body – love working on my arms. Check out my awesome arms workout!
9. Protein powder or food with protein?
Food with protein, definitely. I don’t use any kind of protein powders.
10. Lunges or squats?
Squats for sure. Lunges and I don’t get along, but I love doing squats. There are really quite a few squat variations so you can always change it up. Next to regular squats, plie squats are my favorite.
11. Sweet or salty?
Sweet. Chocolate and peanut butter specifically.
12. Workout attire: cute or comfy?
Comfy. And cool. And items that won’t chafe.
13. Body Pump or Heavy lifting?
Heavy lifting, but I have never tried Body Pump.
14. Yoga or Pilates?
Yoga. I miss yoga and need to go back. If you haven’t read the post The Healing Power of Yoga by my friend Laura Bower, be sure and check it out.
15. Nike or Adidas?
Neither. Brooks – they fit my feet fabulously. I have three pairs of Brooks at the moment. One in my gym bag and two around the house for workouts here or walking outside.
16. Running on the treadmill or outdoors?
Walking – outdoors. Although if it rains, I will be on the treadmill or elliptical.
17. Whole Foods or Trader Joes?
Have never been to either one. We actually have a Trader Joe’s opening TODAY in town. We also just got a Publix. I think we are getting a Whole Foods sometime this fall.
18. Summer or Winter Olympics?
Summer. I have become quite the fan of men’s swimming, men’s diving, etc. The well-toned men in small bathing suits are fun to watch! I also love gymnastics!
19. Wine or beer?
20. Steamed or roasted veggies?
Neither. Raw. And honestly, I am not a veggie fan. I know. I try as many veggies as possible, but just do not like them.
That was a fun questionnaire.
